Gluten-free restaurants and pastry shops in New York, NY

In March 2018, my husband and I went to New York for a weekend. When I was younger, I had a real crush on this city and I had the chance to go there several times. This time the trip was decided last minute, but we were ready with a list of different places that we were very keen to visit. Here is a list of safe places for celiacs and gluten-sensitive.

100% Gluten-free Restaurants

We ate a typical Italian meal. It was nice to be seated on a Saturday night at a stress-free restaurant. I highly recommend it!

PS, Risoterria Miloti also has a restaurant in Rome, which we were fortunate enough to visit this past February, just before the shutdown. It was surreal to think that we had visited the one in New York as well. How Jet-Set we are (Not!)

Friedmans is not a gluten-free establishment, but staff are well aware of celiac disease and the risks associated with cross-contamination. If you order their famous burger, a small gluten free flag will adorn your bread. Remember to mention that you are celiac or intolerant so that they take the necessary precautions. Of course, if you are in doubt or if you do not feel safe with the staff on duty, do not hesitate to ask to speak to a manager.

630 9th Avenue, New York, NY, United States

Before going to New York last March, I asked for recommendations on my Instagram account and Veronique was kind enough to advise me on Nizza. Unfortunately in 24 hours we didn't have time to try everything. I promise, next time.

Besides, thank you Veronique! Psst, for those who would be worried, I am assured that the service there is amazing. Obviously take the necessary precautions, as usual in restaurants.

NoGlu tarts are just amazing!

Typical French pastry in the heart of New York. Bjorn and I had a crush on their little pies. They're not just cute, they're delicious. You can also have lunch as they offer soups and sandwiches. We were a little disappointed with their croissant sandwich. The ones in Montreal are frankly better!

I think this pastry will become my classic during my visits to New York. To avoid a nasty surprise, choose to go at the beginning of the day. By late afternoon, stocks might have been ravaged so everything is good! This was our case last time and it disappointed me.

248 Broome St, New York, NY 10002, United States

A follower on Instagram recommended this vegan and gluten-free pastry. I confess that everything looks delicious!

Any suggestions? I'm curious to know them. Leave them for comment.
